A beautiful, honest and superbly inspiring book by Amit Sheth for any runner, especially in Mumbai, owing to its relatability.
This book chronicles the journey of Amit from a non-runner to an accomplished long-distance runner and multiple times Conrades finished – that holy grail of endurance running, covering a distance of 87+ km over 5 hills with stuff intermediate cut-offs.
I was lucky to get a autographed copy of the book from Amit at one of the expos.

It’s no wonder that many Comrades runners, now numbering 200+ annually, owe their inspiration to this book. And Amit is the most recognizable face of the Indian Comrades contingent every year.
Endowed with beautiful writing skills, each story is heart touching and has a soul. And with his repertoire of quotes and poems, Amit drives home the message very well.
Here’s my favorite:
And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music.
– Friedrich Nietzsche
